There’s a lot of chatter about those dastardly North
Koreans being responsible for hacking Sony on the internet, causing the
cancellation of “The Interview.” The ever-reliable and honest FBI assures us it
has evidence nailing the North Koreans. However, I will bet, if push comes to
shove, that the FBI won’t release this evidence because – you guessed it – they
don’t want to reveal (directly or indirectly) how we gather intelligence.
So we’re left with taking the FBI’s word for this and to
believe that the United States is really that vulnerable to cyber attack by a
fourth-rate country. Are you kidding me? I’m far more inclined to think that
the FBI hacked Sony, with the intention of blaming NK. That way, we’d have an excuse
to smite them. What better way to get the average US citizen behind a
retaliatory action than to suggest that our freedom to see whatever movie we
want was successfully challenged?
